A. Wayne Gill
A. Wayne Gill is an entrepreneur, attorney, and equity partner in Adorno & Yoss LLP. With over 250 attorneys practicing in ten states and internationally, Adorno & Yoss is the largest certified minority-owned law firm in the United States. Gill represents some of the top corporations in the United States, including AT&T, Hilton Hotels Corporation, American Express and Shell Oil Company.
He is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where he majored in English and was a Teaching Assistant to distinguished Professor of English, James Miller. He later graduated from The George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C., where he obtained Honors in Trial Advocacy and was a clerk to the Honorable Arthur L. Burnett, Sr. of the District of Columbia Superior Court.
Over the past ten years, Gill has been involved first-hand in the issues and challenges facing minority-owned businesses on several levels. He is a minority entrepreneur in his own right, having started a law firm around his kitchen table in 1997 with only a $250 retainer. He built that minority business to over $1million in annual revenue and merged it into Adorno & Yoss in 2003.
Along the way, Gill won numerous Minority Business awards, such as: the NMSDC National Minority Supplier of the Year, Regional Minority Supplier of the Year, Northwood University’s Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, Macy’s Crystal Award for Outstanding Minority Business Advocacy, and the Caribbean Bar Association’s Community Service Award. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Regional Minority Business Council, where he’s advocated for minority business interests for more than 10 years.
He is a frequent speaker, moderator, and teacher at legal and business seminars for companies such as Office Depot, Sprint, and Ford Motor Credit. He’s also published legal and business articles and written Continuing Legal Education materials for the National Business Institute.
He is married to his wife of twenty-two years, Sharon. They have two children, Gavin and Brittany. He is also a licensed minister. He is available for speaking engagements and may be booked through this website.
